Air filter production pleats the filter medium, fixes the pleat ends and bonds the pack into its frame. A filter only performs if all the air passes through the medium, which makes the tightness of these joints decisive.
The adhesive has to hold the pleat spacing, leave no leak between frame and pack, and stay in place under airflow. Powermelt® hot melts set quickly for pleat fixing, while reactive PUR products are used on frame joints that need higher strength.
